Hello AACC Members and Friends,
San Francisco Tech Week: Australia House is Taking Shape!
We have been busy working with Austrade, Voice Capital and HSBC Innovation Banking on plans for Australia House at SF Tech Week on October 6. It is shaping up to be an exciting opportunity to showcase Australia’s innovation, technology and investment ecosystem and bring together founders, investors, industry leaders and the broader Australian community in San Francisco. Interested in being part of Australia House? We’d love to hear from you! Reach out if you would like to get involved or support the event.
The Board was delighted to attend San Francisco International Week, joining a fantastic cross-section of the city’s international business community. Hosted by the San Francisco Center for Economic Development and San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, it was a great opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, make new introductions and explore potential opportunities to collaborate in the future. We are continuing the conversation and look forward to building on these new connections.
We're just 21 days out from the historic first regular season NFL game played on Australian soil, as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Los Angeles Rams at the MCG. With interest building fast, several media outlets have reached out wanting to speak with Aussie NFL fans about what this moment means for the sport. If you'd like to share your story, get in touch, we'd love to help connect you. After a year of generously contributing her time, ideas and energy to the AACC Board, Cindy Muscio has decided to step down. We would like to extend a big thank you to Cindy for her contribution, support and commitment to the Chamber over the past year. While her busy travel schedule means she is unable to give the Board the time she would like, this is certainly not goodbye! We look forward to seeing Cindy at future Chamber events and keeping her connected to our AACC community.
Plenty happening in the next few month, plenty of opportunities ahead, and as always, thank you to everyone who continues to show up, make connections and help grow our Chamber community! Dawn
On behalf of the AACC Board

WHY AUSTRALIA-US INTEREST RATES MATTER FOR AUD/USD
|
|
|
The interest-rate gap between Australia and the United States is back in focus. The Reserve Bank of Australia has held its cash rate at 4.35%, while the Federal Reserve’s target range remains at 3.50%–3.75%. Meanwhile, July’s US inflation data showed price pressures easing slightly.
Higher Australian rates can support the Australian dollar, but interest rates are only part of the picture. Commodity prices, economic growth and global risk sentiment also influence AUD/USD.
For Australians living or doing business in the US, these movements can affect the value of property proceeds, investments, salaries and business payments. Following both central banks can provide useful context when planning transfers between the two countries.
