Hello AACC Members and Friends,
October and November have been exceptionally busy and exciting months for the Chamber, reflecting the growing momentum across our Australian American community.
We were delighted to host our first Membership Appreciation Event, generously sponsored by Bobby Gupta of Votal AI in partnership with the always fabulous Roger Huldi at the St. Regis San Francisco. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise our members and the invaluable support you provide to the Chamber - your engagement is what makes this community thrive.
On the policy front, the Australian Prime Minister and the U.S. administration had a number of productive meetings over the past month. A key outcome was the announcement of a new Critical Minerals Framework, with President Trump and Prime Minister Albanese signing an agreement to invest over $3 billion in joint critical minerals projects. This initiative aims to strengthen supply chains for advanced technologies and bolster economic resilience, underpinned by an estimated $53 billion in recoverable resources from participating projects.
Closer to home, the kickoff for the Australian Gala was an overwhelming success, so much so that the first 50 member tickets sold out almost immediately. We are preparing for a spectacular celebration of the Gala’s 50th anniversary, with generous support from partners including Penfolds and United Airlines. Expect some fun and memorable touches as we honour this remarkable milestone.
In December, keep an eye out or book your seat for the inaugural United Airlines flight from SFO to Adelaide. This new direct service will operate a season route three times per week, opening a seamless connection between the Bay Area and South Australia just in time for the holiday season. Flight time: 15 hours and 55 minutes.
As we head into the holiday season, I want to extend my warmest wishes to you and your families for a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’ll be hosting for the first time in 26 years… so wish me luck with the turkey trimmings!
Cheers,
Dawn
